Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Operate excavation equipment safely and efficiently. Mini-excavators and/or Horizontal Directional Drill machine
- Perform Labor roles as needed. Job set up, shoveling, material movement, etc.
- Complete work as directed by jobsite foreman
- May provide instruction to others, including assisting in training of less experienced operators and laborers
- Drive truck and trailer (with equipment) to jobsite
- Preventative maintenance of equipment, including drill rig, truck and trailer
- Maintain clean and safe work site
Required skills/qualifications
- Able to safely operate excavation equipment around utilities
- Class A CDL required, or ability to obtain one in timely manner (with Company assistance)
- Minimal short term required DL is state equivalent for 10k-26k CMV or combo (with Company assistance). Michigan Chauffeur’s License.
- DOT Medical Certification, or ability to obtain Med Card in timely manner (with Company assistance)
- Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions
- Occasional, sometimes often, weekly overnight travel required (with per diem)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
