Job Description Summary:

Accounts for all transactions occurring during the day, records them properly and closes out each 24-hour period.

Job Tasks:

  • Performs all duties of a front desk clerk/guest service agent.
  • Pay close attention to guest wake up calls.
  • Balance all guest room charges by department for the previous day; determine the dollar volume of business done by room guests in each department during the previous day and records it properly.
  • Checks and verifies the room status report and analyzes any discrepancies. Prepares housekeeping report for the next day.
  • Prepares credit card billings, by credit card, and accounts receivable.
  • Accurately posts all charges to guest accounts (room, tax, telephone, valet, food, beverage, misc., etc.).
  • Checks and verifies all credit cards have been approved with proper authorization.
  • Prepares daily report
  • May do interior walk-through
  • Performs other duties as required or requested by management staff including attendance of hotel staff meetings and management company meetings.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with persons outside of hotel – communicate with persons outside of the hotel, representing the hotel to guests, the public in person, in writing, by telephone or by email in a professional manner consistent with the policies of the hotel.
  • Communicate with supervisors, peers or subordinates – provide information to supervisors, peers and subordinates in person, in writing, by telephone or by email in a professional manner consistent with the policies of the hotel.

o Maintain a friendly, positive attitude with guests and employees.

o Adhere to all policies, procedures and standards set forth by this department, the Hotel, and the management company.

o Comply with all safety and OSHA requirements.

o Maintain a professional and clean working environment.

o Report to work as scheduled, in professional attire (Approved uniform)

o Direct any questions or concerns to Front Desk Supervisor and General Manager.

  • Guest and Personal Service – provide optimum guest service by actively looking for ways to help the guest. Ability to convey information effectively, to listen with full attention to what other people are saying, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. This includes guest needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction.
  • Language Skills – Proficient in oral and written communication
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Required Skills:

  • Certificates/Licenses – Must obtain required franchise certifications within time frame allotted and must be willing to attend and participate in other training seminars, webinars, etc. as required by hotel, franchisor, and the management company.
  • Time Management – be able to manage one’s own time and schedule with very little supervision.

Abilities Required:

Job Types: Full-Time

Pay: From $14.50 per hour with .50 raise after 90 days of employment

Expected hours: No more than 40 hours per week
