Line Cook/Prep Cook

Sky Lounge Bar & Grill is an upscale restaurant and full-service bar providing vintage décor, soothing music and a relaxed ambience. Our delicious cuisines paired with our themed signature drinks provide an environment where individuals can ESCAPE reality and seize the moment.

We are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Partner with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Plate prepared foods based on kitchen managers guidance
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least three years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a face-paced environment
  • Strong organization and active listening skills
  • Ability to work on your feet for 6 to 8 hours and lift 30 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 – $18.00 per hour

Shift:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
