The long awaited return of Blondie’s in Shelton is right around the corner. As we put the finishing touches on the new and improved Blondie’s Family Diner, we are in search of line cooks to join our team.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in a kitchen setting, and will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences through your culinary expertise and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards for presentation and taste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in menu planning and development as needed, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes.
Skills
- Proven experience in the food industry, preferably within fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, meal preparation, and food handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
- Familiarity with dietary department requirements is a plus but not essential.
- A passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering outstanding food service experiences.
