JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Technician Lead will help lead Quality Inspectors and develop and maintain our Quality Management System and Environmental Management System, support our compliance with the Health and Safety regulations, as well as any improvement initiatives at our manufacturing sites in the South East region.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Quality
– Help ensure the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management System are followed through across the region.
– Certify and track quality of product entering and leaving our facility
– Conduct and track In-Process and Final QA Checks throughout the manufacturing process.
– Ensure that there is a Drawing and Cut List at each station and that every employee is aware of their function
– Bridge the gap between Shop and Engineering to ensure drawings are updated appropriately
– Recommend improved designs if safety, quality, or efficiency dictates
– Perform End of Month Physical Inventory Audits with Production Managers/ Supervisors. Improve process and organization for speed and accuracy.
– Report non-conformities to the Production Manager and Quality Manager, and communicate these items to Shop Supervisors / Employees. Assist on action plans for implementation.
– Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer non-conforming issues and complaints relating to quality.
– Support Nefab Sourcing and Quality, and work with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
– Collect and compile statistical quality data.
– Complete customer quality documentation as required, i.e. First Article Inspections.
2. Health & Safety
– Identify unsafe work habits, report, and work with Production Manager to implement any changes accordingly.
– Work with Production Manager to track safety hours worked without incident and update reporting boards.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
– High school diploma or GED
– 2+ years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
– Experience participating in ISO audits is a plus
– Experience working with Lean Manufacturing strategies and methodologies is a plus

– Ability to read, analyze and interpret production drawings and Quality related documents
– Ability to be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all employees

WORK ENVIRONMENT
– Work may require weekend and/or evening work.
– Plant working conditions include noise more than 90 dB, variable temperatures, and humidity (climate conditions), some dirt and dust (within OSHA guidelines), and when outside, inclement weather. Personal Protection Equipment is provided.
