Job Objective:

This position coordinates and performs maintenance and repair of physical structures and grounds by performing varied labor.

  • Schedule and complete work repair orders from the Property Manager.
  • Work overtime in emergency situations as required, arrive early, or stay late in order to complete needed repairs with limited disruption of residence and operations.
  • Wear any and all PPE provided, including but not limited to gloves, masks, or back guard when doing substantial lifting.
  • Maintain a neat appearance, including clean clothing, clean shaven or neatly trimmed facial hair, neatly trimmed hair, shirt tucked in, and pants at the waist.
  • Must be available for a flexible schedule; to work early shifts, late shifts, and some weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
No education required.
Experience:
General knowledge of maintenance and repair of industrial facilities. Practical and varied experience in improvising repair and/or trouble shooting.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and qualify to drive Salvation Army vehicles.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak one-on-one and small groups of employees and clients respectfully. Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Travel:
Able and willing to travel to each of the center properties on a regular basis.
Working Conditions:

The work environment for this position is a backroom, store, office, or warehouse environment with a low to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather.
