We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Formulation Specialist to work in our Production Department in Harvard, Illinois. This full-time position reports to the Production Supervisor. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The Formulation Specialist is responsible for operating a variety of machines by performing the duties of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate 500 liter mixing pots with heated jacket
- Operate high shear mixers and blenders.
- Perform weighing and blending operations in an accurate manner.
- Check and verify ingredients weighed and perform reconciliations.
- Able to perform normalization of the product when required.
- Able to perform daily cleans and PMs on blending equipment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot machines and make minor adjustments on all machinery and equipment.
- Maintain paperwork in a neat and accurate manner and perform daily calculations.
- Work with R & D to support product development.
- Perform benchtop formulations for the R & D department.
- Interface with the Production Manager, and Quality Department on a day to day basis.
- Clean machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
- Be able to perform basic math calculations utilizing a calculator.
- Follow all safety, quality, and GMP policies.
- Suggest ways to improve productivity and efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Be able to adapt and willing to perform a variety of roles as needed
- Maintain good attendance.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English with the department and company as needed.
- Must be able to work in a variety of conditions: noise, dust, heavy lifting, repetitive motion, standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to recognize audible hazards.
