Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drone Pilot and Farm Equipment Operator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating agricultural drones for fungicide applications to apply to our 800 acre potato crop throughout the summer on a weekly basis. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and adherence to federal aviation regulations to ensure safe and effective drone operations.
The ideal candidate will also have some background in operating agricultural equipment or a desire to learn to do so. This is including but not limited to tractors, straight trucks, skid steers, including tillage operations, fertilization operations and harvest operations. No potato experience is needed.
Drone Pilot Responsibilities
- Operate drones for various fungicide, herbicide and fertilizer applications.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure all equipment is functioning properly before each flight.
- Maintain compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines and laws.
- Provide mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during operations.
- Document flight logs and maintain accurate records of all drone activities and applications.
Drone Requirements
- Proven experience as a drone pilot.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist in the maintenance and repair of drone equipment.
- A valid drone pilot certification.
Farm Equipment Operator Responsibilities
- Some experience or familiarity operating large machinery or a strong desire to learn to do so.
- Operate various equipment for planting, harvest and fertilizer applications.
- Conduct inspection to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Provide some mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during operations.
- Have an ability to do some light equipment maintenance as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
