Cook/Meal Coordinator

Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and talented Cook to join our ever-growing team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering not just meals, but memorable dining experiences. Duties include planning and preparing high-quality meals with an emphasis on freshness, variety, and visual appeal. This role is also responsible for inventory, purchasing, labor and food cost controls, maintaining sanitation standards, and delivering top-notch customer service.

Back of House Responsibilities:

  • Performs meal prep and cooking duties for company that includes, but isn’t exclusive to; meetings, trainings, visitors, internal recognitions, and the possibility of cash and carry items in the future
  • Develops menus and maintains calendar of events for meal prep. Includes maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate the fluidity of the company’s needs
  • Creates and introduces innovative and appealing dishes, incorporating farm to table ingredients whenever possible
  • Manages food inventory, ordering, and storage while minimizing waste and ensuring freshness
  • Maintains kitchen facilities. Conducts safety, sanitation and maintenance programs

Front of House Responsibilities:

  • Plates and serves meals to clients ranging from colleagues to corporate business groups
  • Engages with guests in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner—anticipating needs and handling feedback professionally
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal culinary training is preferred, but not required
  • Self-starter, innovative and ability to multitask
  • Maintains a positive attitude under pressure and ability to motivate a team
  • Must possess a passion for excellence
  • Must be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food
  • Purchasing, food storage and sanitation experience
  • Maintain financial reporting (costs)
  • Knowledge of budgets, labor costs, inventory controls
  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office and POS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional business etiquette and client relations
  • Ability to lift, bend and carry up to 30 lbs
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus

Expected hours: 32 – 50 per week
