We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Store Clerk to join our team. As a Store Clerk, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our grocery store. You will assist customers with their shopping needs, manage transactions, and maintain the store’s appearance. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers as they enter the store, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Operate cash registers efficiently, handling cash transactions accurately.
- Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are organized and displayed properly.
- Conduct product demonstrations to promote new items and encourage sales.
- Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales volume.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including aisles and checkout areas.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, and promotions with professionalism.
- Utilize phone etiquette when answering calls or assisting customers over the phone.
Skills
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash effectively.
- Experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales tracking.
- Strong cash handling skills to ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Experience with product demos to engage customers and promote items effectively.
- Proficient in using cash registers and other point-of-sale systems.

Pay: $16.50 – $19.00 per hour
