Agricultural Grants Project Manager

Part Time

Momentum Ag is a farmer-led, farmer-facing nonprofit based in Western MA. Momentum funds and coordinates on-farm trials of innovative climate-smart techniques throughout the Northeast. Our trials leverage farmers’ expertise to ground-truth promising techniques that have anemic adoption rates, and develop Best Management Practices as a community. Once BMPs have been established, we drive adoption through peer-to-peer outreach.

Our on-farm trials are primarily grant-funded. The Project Manager will oversee these grants (about five per year) throughout the lifetime of the awards. This includes developing project templates, monitoring progress, facilitating metrics/reporting, coordinating communication between Momentum staff, collaborating organizations, and granting organizations, submitting reimbursements, and ensuring the successful execution of deliverables on time and within budget.

This position requires a candidate who can create/maintain systems that promote organization, communication and efficiency.

This is a home-based position, but preference will be given to candidates located in New England or New York (i.e., within reasonable driving distance of Western MA, where Momentum’s HQ is located). This position will require occasional travel for staff meetings and site visits.

The Project Manager reports to Momentum’s Director. In 2026 and beyond, this position has the potential to become full-time.

  • Healthcare/dental can be negotiated as part of the compensation package.
  • Momentum’s work is at the cutting edge of agricultural innovation and uses radical theoretical models like PAR to drive bottom-up change.
