Job Title: Production Operators
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Supervises: None
General Overview of the Position:
Operators are responsible for all aspects of process, including production, maintenance, and housekeeping facility-wide. An operator will follow all plant safety rules and attend required training as scheduled. They will need to be able to work and communicate in a team environment to quickly and efficiently resolve problems to maximize plant production. The operator needs to maintain a good attendance record and be dependable enough to work extra time when required.
Specific Job Duties:
- Must have the ability to operate plant according to all safety rules and procedures.
- Being able to operate and maintain all necessary equipment to perform duties.
- Adhere to Department of Transportation regulations for handling and shipping of flammable liquids such as ethanol.
- Follow proper procedures for handling ALL chemicals
- Follow company guidelines for confined space entries, hot work permits, and lockout/tag out.
- Accurately communicate with other operators, maintenance, and management personnel.
- Load ethanol tank cars and complete required paperwork according to procedures.
- Oversee grain-unloading operation and notify truck drivers of any process deviations.
- Participate in shift change information meetings.
- Follow railroad regulations in preparation for shipment of DDGS and Ethanol.
- Accurately complete all paperwork as assigned.
- Follow company procedures for start up, shutdown and operation of large electric motors and pumps.
- Organize and manage time and materials.
- Participate in covering the job duties of absent plant personnel.
- To handle the control room for the process and respond to audio and visual alarms accordingly.
- Utilize time efficiently to maintain a clean and organized facility.
- Monitor equipment operation and report any deficiencies to your team leader and/or maintenance department.
- Support the maintenance department in troubleshooting, breakdowns or shutdown situations.
- Follow Emergency Action Plan as directed by shift supervisor or management personnel.
- Responsible for operating a safe working place, meeting all environmental/sanitation standards, caring for equipment, structure and grounds.
- Responsible for plant cleanliness and general maintenance.
- Meet Q.C. specs of plant
- Capable of assuming duties of shift supervisor while absent and handle all aspects of process control
- Train in all areas of process and running control

- Must be able to work nights and weekends as part of the rotating shift
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in and around conditions that may be dusty, noisy, and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions year round.
Education and Experience Requirement:
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Preference given to associates technical degree or equivalent experience
